Pine Tree Power is a grassroots coalition fighting to create a utility system that is democratically run by the citizens of Maine. The inspiration for the logo was more illustrative Soviet logos from the early 20th century. We wanted to give the logo mark a feeling of being home-made, something organic and warm to stand out against the opposition. We wanted to invoke the natural bounty of Maine, which can be used to create alternate and eco-friendly forms of energy.
